Pre-Shipment Testing
Pre-shipment testing to recognised industrial standards is an important part of the design process as, without it, it is difficult to ascertain how well a packaging solution would perform during its normal anticipated transit cycle. By using testing methods from industrial bodies such the International Safe Transit Association (ISTA), our packaging experts can recommend the ideal material type, cushion thickness and cushion design to ensure that the product is protected to the correct level whilst ensuring that packaging material usage is optimised.
Testing can range from simple, non-focussed testing where a product is vibrated at a fixed frequency for a known duration and then dropped multiple times from a specific height, right up to testing for very specific storage, shipping and handling conditions where products are conditioned in a climatic chamber, vibrated using random vibration profiles and then dropped multiple times, including drops onto hazards.
